Project Scope

CR Meyer was the General Contractor of a green field tissue making and converting facility followed by an expansion that included the installation of a second Valmet tissue machine.

The project included:

  • Preparation of roads, parking, site grading, utilities, rail service, steam production, fresh water supply, fire protection, and site security
  • Construction of Sub Station; Pulp Storage and Pulper Building/Process; Tissue Machine Building/Process; Parent Roll Storage Building; Tissue Converting Building/Process; Finished Product Warehouse, and an Effluent Treatment Plant
  • Installation of Parent Roll Handling equipment and Converting equipment including Packaging and Palletizing equipment; and a new Valmet Tissue Machine and associated stock preparation equipment
  • Construction of a new Finished Goods Warehouse (Design / Build), Administration and Maintenance Buildings.

Project Stats

  • CR Meyer self-performed the concrete, steel erection, masonry, equipment installation, process piping, and electrical.
The quality of work and management helped these start-ups set a new benchmark for the machines. CR Meyer demonstrated their ability to be the general contractor of major installations by quickly resolving any subcontractor trades or billing issues and coordinating multiple disciplines in a limited work space.
