Mine Reopens Just Nine Days after Major Fire

Industry: Mining

Project Scope

When fire damaged a Michigan iron ore mine last December and threatened to collapse a 400-foot long suspended limestone conveyor system, CR Meyer was called into engineer a solution to stabilize, decommission and dismantle the conveyor. The wide range of round-the-clock engineering and demolition expertise and manpower saved the mine from a long-term shutdown that would have resulted from the conveyor system falling onto the mine’s centralized electrical equipment.

The mine was back in operation just nine days after the fire.

We wanted to let you know how pleased we were with your crew. The installation was seamless and did not interfere with our production. Your employees were exceptional and easy to work with.
