CR Meyer is Platinum Sponsor in U.S. Venture Open 2013

November 1, 2013

CR Meyer was a Platinum Partner in helping sponsor the U.S. Venture Open held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. The U.S. Venture is Northeast Wisconsin’s single largest one-day charitable event dedicated to fighting poverty. The event is held at several regional golf courses: Oneida Golf and Country Club, Green Bay; North Shore Golf Club, Menasha; Mid Vallee Golf Course, De Pere; Fox Valley Golf Club, Kaukauna; and Wander Springs, Greenleaf.

Funds generated through corporate and private contributions go to the U.S. Venture Fund for Basic Needs, a fund established within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation and the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation. Grants are made to non-profit organizations in the communities served by these foundations. In the 27-year history of the event more than $16 million has been raised and nearly $10 million granted.

In fiscal year 2012, the Basic Needs Giving Partnership made more than $1.4 million in grants to projects and programs that are implemented by nearly 80 charitable organizations, impacting more than 50,000 people in need within Northeast Wisconsin. Funding is concentrated in collaborative projects that address root causes of poverty and encourage self-sufficiency. Grants for 2013 will be announced later in spring but are expected to total nearly $1.75 million.
